I haven't posted this since... I don't know... October... So this is for February...
After the last few ninth graders trickle out of the auditorium, probably because they have already heard this speech a handful of times. The principal begins to speak. "As you know, this group of students is particularly special compared to the rest, which is why you've been holding you breath for this moment in your life," The smile on his face had disappeared, "but sadly, the head administrator doesn't think any of you are ready to learn more about who you are yet. You will have to wait until closer to the end of the year to learn the truth."

You will have to wait until closer to the end of the year to learn the truth."
The look on everyone's faces were more surprised then sad, before this every grade had been told about how we got this magic, what would happen when the magic disappeared, but all we get is the sorry wagon. Whispers begun to spread across the auditorium. Everyone trying to figure out what's happening.
Suddenly two boys near the back jump up and run out the side door. They both seemed familiar but I couldn't quite tell why. Then another girl runs up to the podium, "Um... hello, my name is Karrisa Lynn, and, um, if I call your name come to the stage please." She smiles, "Um... Alice Black, Zach Brooks, Rain Keal, Madeline Terra and Aria Woods." She calls each name and we walk to the stage. "The rest of you now have permission to leave now." With that everyone leaves, including the principal.
"Um, why were we all singled out? I mean, I know Alice, Rain, Aria and I have been here since it opened but what about the rest of you?" The girl, I assume is Madeline, asks. She obviously was confused and not happy that she got so much attention.
"Well, I also have been here since it opened." Karrisa says, "and most of us are, in fact if I got the names right, then we were all here from the beginning, and this is almost all of us. The two boys who ran out earlier too." I don't know why, but I kind of didn't want to believe her, I remember there was way more of us at the beginning camp thing, and I thought for sure more people passed.
"What if you got the names all wrong and we weren't here since the beginning?" Zach asks, pulling on his hair absent-minded.
"Are you trying to say that you weren't here from the beginning?" Karrisa asks, "because I could have gotten the names wrong and accidentally called you somehow."
He remained silent and continued pulling on his hair so we all took it as he has been here since the beginning.
"Why don't you want anyone to know?" Madeline asks.
"Never mind that, the two boys that ran out are also part of the beginning group, and I have a feeling we're the reason we aren't allowed to hear about our powers," She says, looking at each of our confused faces she starts to explain, "Maybe our magic is different from the other grades, have you ever heard of the mimic ability? No? It's the ability to..."
"That's impossible." Aria finally speaks, "People with mimic magic are locked up before they even know they're Mimicers." Mimicers is the technical term for someone with mimic magic.
"I think the tests messed up, or the school's trying to hide something from us. At least a few of us are Mimicers and know it already." Karrisa says, Zach and Rain look at the ground, "Including me." She states.
"Wait one minute, you have mimic magic?" Aria squeals.
"I'll demonstrate." She says, "Mimicers have the ability to do whatever they want, or at least use any kind of magic they know or makeup. For instance, levitation, or the physical group." She says, letting herself hover a few inches of the ground. "Fire and Ice, the elemental group." She lets fire crawl up here arm the freezes it, the flame still burned orange and red withing the ice. "Giving life to inanimate objects then taking them away, giver group." She takes a doll out of her backpack and brings it to life, then takes the life away before anything can go wrong. "Then the mind group, including mind-control and mind-reading. I can mind-control but I can not read minds." She states.
"So that's the mimic ability?" Madeline asks, she seemed pretty excited that she might have that power, but I'm pretty sure we all were.
"Pretty great, right? I think we all have it in us." Karrisa smiles, she also seemed excited that we all might have the power, again, who wouldn't be excited.
"Can I go now?" Zach finally speak again, I guess we weren't all very excited...
"No... I called you all here for a reason." Karrisa replies.
"Then spit it out, I have places to be..."
"Like where? I'd say this is pretty important."
"Power testing..." He mumbles so it was hard to understand.
"Power testing, what's that?" I ask, "It sounds interesting."
"Oh, power testing is only for a selected few, and if you're chosen you have to be in it. Anyone in the group that doesn't go gets detention, unless of course they have special permission to not go or something," Rain smiles, "It's basically another class that makes sure your powers are working or if you don't have your powers yet, to use a machine that may or may not boost the progress."
"That was a very detailed description. You'll make a good class rep." Aria says, "Anyway, we're getting off topic again, about this mimic magic thing, why would you think we all have it?"
"To begin with, only people that were Mimicers were considered real magicians, or else they were considered witches and were burned at the stake, that was mostly during the pioneer times though." Rain answers, I swear you could ask him anything and he'd have an answer for you...
