Fail Contest (Feb. Post)
When people
think of failure, many think of bad things. Not
winning, last place, losing.
The truth is under all of that is good. Students or anyone should not be afraid
to fail. We all have heard the saying, “You learn from your mistakes.” By that,
you can see what you have done wrong in the past and fix it in the future.
Every person in this world has failed at least once. In the Scholastic Scope Magazine
it tells you many people who have failed more than once who were successful. We
all know the famous Katy Perry. She had three record labels that failed before
succeeding. The most common failure was Abraham Lincoln. He lost five elections
before becoming president. Did he ever look down after that? No, of course not!
He did not give up. Now Lincoln is one of the most important people ever. Most
students get upset because of failure. Like not making the basketball team, or
not getting in the school they wanted, and much more. However, the key thing is
to never give up. Try, try, and try again. Just pick yourself up and start
over. One other famous fails was by J.K Rowling. She had twelve publishers who
rejected the first Harry Potter book. Look where she is now! You, see? Why give
up, when success is right in front of you?
I Agree! There were some very good reasons in there. When you quoted the scope magazine, you could have yoused the name too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!!!!! I think this is an amazing essay!! It is very persuasive and I liked that you used facts and you mentioned the magazine. Although, you could have made it into several different paragraphs instead of one long one. Overall, fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! Really great writing, I really enjoyed reading it. I love how you gave many examples of people that have failed before, but are huge successes now! One thing is name the article in the Scope Magazine, not just the name of the magazine it was in. Other then that great piece!
