Are Mistakes Key to making a Discovery?

Are Mistakes Key To Making a Discovery?
Some people think that you must have errors and mistakes in order to make discoveries. Well, I think that is so ridiculous! Well anyways, that is so ridiculous I can’t even tell you how lame that sounds. I guess you could say that I do not think that mistakes are key to making discoveries. I have some pretty good reasons that will back me up.
For instance, when Howard Carter discovered King Tut’s tomb, what mistakes did he make? People like Carter, or other famous explorers don’t make mistakes that lead them to make huge discoveries. I guess every once in a while someone might make a discovery due to their mistakes. But people definitely don’t need mistakes to discover something.
Even though, people make such amazing discoveries, people still think you have to have mistakes in order to make discoveries. Well, did Romulus and Remus make mistakes? Not necessarily, how many mistakes did they make? They discovered Rome!
For instance, think about all those famous explores you learn about. I guess yeah some of them might have made mistakes that help lead to their discoveries, but not all of those explores made mistakes that were key to discoveries. Marco Polo, that guy didn't make any mistakes and he discovered Asia! I think you are starting to get my point.
Although, some opposers might suggest that mistakes are key to making discoveries. They might say that all because Christopher Columbus founded the Americas because of his mistake, but I really do disagree with that point. Sure, Columbus probably only founded the Americas because of mistakes but that definitely does not mean that everyone who makes discoveries must make a mistake. That idea is totally ridiculous.
In conclusion, I really do believe that discoveries do not require mistakes. People can make amazing discoveries without any flaws. So if people think that discoveries need mistakes they should probably rethink that opinion.

  2. That was good. The only thing I would suggest is to fix some grammar and spelling but other than that it's pretty convincing

  4. Well done I remember doing this essay too. It was a good one. I would consider maybe adding a couple more in-text citations and fix those spelling errors but other than that good job!

  5. Nice job Matt you are a very good writer. I really like your reasons why mistakes aren't a key part of discovery. I really like when you said that "famous explorers don't make mistakes the lead to huge discoveries". The only thing that I think you should change is add more in text citation, otherwise it is really good.
