I listened to "How Do I Know When a Poem Is Finished?" read by Naomi Shihab Nye. I liked how she compared the room to a poem. She gave the room human qualities, personification, and really made it sound like the room had feelings. I could imagine what she was saying in my mind.
Dance
It is wings to lift you,
Carry you, help you, build you,
Take you wherever you dream.
It flows in and through you,
It is you uncovered.
It is a way to lose yourself,
And find yourself all at the same time.
You do it because you need to.
You do it for the little girl watching,
Who wants to be just like you someday.
You do it for pure joy and pain.
You do it to free yourself.
But most importantly,
You do it for you.
Dance
I liked how you used a lot a description Audrey. As I can see, I think you like dance! Honestly, I can't think of anything you could do better so just keep it up!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSHY!!! This is really good!! I loved how you painted a picture in my mind and used really descriptive details!! And also, I agree with Kyler: I don't see anything wrong with this... But if I had to choose something, I would just say write a little more. Although I think it is fine the way it is!! HAHAHA!! Keep up the GREAT work!! You are soooo good at making poems!!
