The poem that I read was “Cotton Candy”. I liked all of the detail. It made me feel like I was the little boy on the bridge. I thought that this writer is excellent.
walking up the steps,
the school bell rings
Trying to find my classes,
what joy it brings
I walk into my classroom
i'm feeling a bit queasy
my classroom smells of newly written chalk.
I'm feeling as if this is quite easy.
Meeting my new classmates,
and walking through the halls
brings me such excitement,
its the first day of school.
I loved this. This is exactly what probably ever 6th grader was thinking on the first day of school. You really captured the feeling of it... and it had a great rhyme scheme. It confused me a little how some of the lines started out with capital letters and some didn't, but that's cool. Good job.

ReplyDeleteGreat job! It really reminds me of my first day at this school. For some reason, (at the time) even though I hadn't ever done the class system before, it felt like I've done it many times. This really brought back memories. Great poem.
ReplyDeleteNice job Annie! I enjoyed reading it because it made me totally think about the first day of school. I didn't see anything you could fix because it was already a great poem. It brought back lots of memories, keep up the great writing.
