Remembering - December Edit

Remembering

I remember the waves splashing up on us like tiny tsunamis
I remember when I was 9 years old playing in the bitter California water
I remember my playful friend I will always have was there; my grandma
I remember us giggling and lightheartedly splashing each other
On that frigid March day
We were all dressed in sweats and thick, fluffy jackets
But in minutes the kids were carefree and in swimsuits
The chilling air did not bother us
Neither did the water that gave your toes frostbite as soon a you stepped in
But after reaching the water, only my grandma and I loved it
The rushing water tempted you as soon as you saw it
The waves would race towards us making your stomach churn with thrill
Just as the waves were about to attack us, we sprang over them
Then SPLASH!, we were engulfed in the crashing waters
We leaped and plunged on this for hours on this sandy San Diego beach

Even though this memory was three years ago,
I remember it vividly
I am glad my grandma and I had this memory
Because this was a time to remember

  1. Awesome writing! You described everything well and really created a picture in my mind. One thing, maybe add some more punctuation, other than that it was really good.
