Saving the Penguins
Many penguins in the world are in big trouble so people around the world are trying to help. According to the article “Saving Penguins, One Sweater at a Time”, Over the past 15 years, more than 1,000 penguins have been saved by people because they give them sweaters. Studies show that if penguins get into an oil spill, then their feathers will all clump up and then dry. The reason why penguins have lots of feathers, is to keep themselves warm. But when their feathers are letting cold water on their skin, they get cold. Since that happens people are saving them by giving them sweaters to keep them warm.
Oil spills in the ocean are among the most devastating disasters. When oil spills happen, people find as many penguins as possible that they can save. After that, they bring them to a warehouse where they can wash and feed them. Then, they put a nice, warm, cozy sweater on them. This helps the penguins stay nice and warm for their habitat.
In the end, people want to help penguins survive, and in order to do that, they bring penguins to a warehouse where they can wash, feed, and care for them. Penguins usually don’t have much trouble living on their own, but once and oil spill comes, they are in danger. As long as people keep saving penguins, they will rebuild a better family instead of losing one.
I thought your story was really good! I think you could have supported some facts by facts from the story, but other than that it was great!
ReplyDeleteI loved it great job Lucy. One thing you should consider is adding in so more in-text citations along with some more adjectives as well. Other than that good job.
